"The everyday water bottle, for the everyday person, with an everyday purpose"

Redesigning a product, and learning how to rebrand and market for a company is A LOT of work. There are many details that I did not realize go into creating and rebranding a product. With this project we were put in groups and assigned to create an entire marketing pitch to a company, acting as if we were in the running to be hired by the company to do their communications and public outreach My group included Mary Kate and Morgan. We chose to rebrand and market for CamelBak water bottles. This product is pretty prominent in our daily lives, because SEM sells SEM CamelBaks, and the three of us drink a lot of water daily. Our ideas for this campaign became very clear very early on, as we wanted to appeal to a wider audience and demographic than CamelBak already does. We chose to make the water bottle for the everyday person and not just the super star athlete that is endorsed to promote the product.

I enjoyed this project, and I feel as it has taught me a lot about the steps that go into something as simple as an advertisement and market strategy. Although I am not a fan of group projects because I believe a lot of the work falls on one person, I thought the members of my group worked efficiently together and for the most part divided the work up evenly.

 

All and all I would have to say that CamelBak should hire us, as we have created a constructive idea and campaign based around attracting more customers to the water bottle and eventually increase sales.
